How Can We Help?
ORCID Integration - Do I Need a Paid ORCID Subscription?ORCID Integration - Do I Need a Paid ORCID Subscription?
What
Pure integrates well with ORCID for both exporting and importing of data. But when do I need a paid ORCID membership to use the ORCID Integration in Pure?
How
The export Pure data to ORCID integration
- Uses the Member API (Application Programming Interface): https://info.orcid.org/documentation/features/member-api/
- ORCID offers paid membership that allows access to the Member API - more info here: https://info.orcid.org/about-membership/
The import ORCID data to Pure integration
- Can use both the Member API or the Public API.
- If you do not have a paid membership, you can still import data from ORCID to Pure, but you cannot setup the export.
Important: Remember to always check the current payment structure at www.orcid.org to determine whether you need a paid subscription or not. Elsevier is not able to monitor 3rd party vendors' payment structures, so we recommend you check with the vendor directly.
- Requesting credentials for either the Membership API or Public API: please visit https://orcid.org/content/register-client-application-0
- ORCID will provide you with the ORCID Client ID and an ORCID Client Secret to use in the Pure Integration.
