Total Number of Authors, How Does This Work?Total Number of Authors, How Does This Work?

What

On research output there is a section for 'Total number of authors'.

Sometimes this appears to be locked, but at other times it appears to be open for manual editing.

How is this number calculated and updated?

How

The 'Total number of authors' is automatically calculated/defined when no author collaboration is part of the research output. This calculation is a simple sum of the total persons added as authors. When one or more collaborations is included the calculation is turned off (this would need to be adjusted manually by the user) and it has to be provided by the user, as Pure has no way of knowing how many persons were part of the collaboration.

When the Research output is imported from Scopus, Scopus will give information about the collaboration group in most cases, so Pure can set the 'Total number of authors'.
